Journey to 100

Produced by WZRDmedia for Athletic Brewing Company

Jason Hardrath is a P.E. teacher in the low-income community of Bonanza, Oregon and the man with the most FKT’s (Fastest Known Times) in the world. His goal: to be the first person to reach 100 FKT records and inspire his students to reimagine what they are capable of.

This film explores what FKT’s are. Why are people drawn to these obscure, perhaps somewhat arbitrary records? What happens when something goes wrong out there? Or when it goes marvelously right?

But at the heart of this story is one man’s pursuit to prove to himself that even when others can’t see it, the right path is the one you create for yourself.

Dear Class of 2020

Produced by WZRDmedia in partnership with YouTube Originals and Done + Dusted Agency

In the midst of a global pandemic, YouTube Originals decided to honor the high school and college students who would be unable to attend their in-person commencement ceremonies. The four-hour live graduation was built as a virtual celebration, bringing together inspirational leaders, celebrities, and Youtube creators to celebrate graduates, their families, and their communities. The program featured the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, BTS, and Alicia Keys.

YouTube asked us to create eight short documentaries to highlight different students in the program. This was a unique challenge as we had to do everything remotely. We conducted interviews with all the students remotely and utilized animations and a variety of licensed footage to be able to highlight these amazing students in a way that felt true to their experience and to their dreams.

The Night Caddy

Produced by WZRDmedia for ArmsReach Industries

The Concept
In anticipation of the launch of their new Night Caddy product colorways, Armsreach Industries approached WZRD to create a commercial for the back-to-school season. The goal of the project was to showcase the problems the Night Caddy solves in a way that was tonally humorous and relatable.

The Film
The story beats are told through a series of vignettes that are intimate, whimsical, and a bit abstract. Practical and smart design is Night Caddy’s back-bone, and we are creating a world that reflects that design. In this deliberate and pleasant place, the Night Caddy is the most elegant, economical, and ethical solution to a problem.

We never see beyond the corner of the bed. Through this astute focus on often overlooked parts of our daily lives and pointed manipulation by a diversity of hands, we notice the details that we normally glaze over. The ruffles in the sheets, the relaxed structure of the pillow, and–front-and-center–the Night Caddy.
